Documents We Serve FAQ

What documents can a process server serve?

A process server can serve almost any court or legal document. The most common are statutory demands, Section 8 possession notices, Section 21 notices, divorce and family papers, claim forms, injunctions and non-molestation orders, notices to quit and witness summonses. If a document needs to be personally served with proof of service, we can serve it.

Which documents legally have to be personally served?

Some documents effectively require personal service to be relied on later. A statutory demand is the clearest example, and personal service is strongly advised for possession notices, injunctions and many family documents where a recipient might dispute receiving them. We advise on the right method for your document type.

Do you provide proof of service for every document?

Yes. Whatever the document, we provide a Certificate of Service or a sworn Affidavit of Service recording how, when and where it was served, in the format the court expects.

Do you serve documents nationwide?

Yes. From our base in Leeds we serve documents across the whole of the UK through a network of trusted local agents, so we can reach a recipient wherever they are.

How quickly can you serve a document?

Standard service is usually attempted within 24 to 48 hours, with same-day and urgent options for time-critical instructions such as statutory demands or documents with a looming deadline.

How much does it cost?

We work on clear fixed fees, quoted upfront once we know the document, address and urgency, with no hidden extras. Urgent and same-day service is available at a supplement.
